Meet the Therapist
Lauren integrates concepts from solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), DBT-informed therapy, and existential therapy to provide a customized counseling experience based on the unique needs of each client. She lends an experienced and compassionate ear to those suffering with grief, shame, anxiety, depression, anger, burnout, suicidal ideation, and intrusive thoughts. As a Certified Compassion Fatigue Practitioner, Lauren is a passionate advocate for mental health and wellness for healthcare workers and those in all of the helping professions. She has special interests in career counseling, assertiveness training, boundary-setting, mindfulness, pet loss support, body neutrality/acceptance, and relationship counseling. She also specializes in teaching skills for emotional regulation and ADHD symptom management. Lauren is proud to provide LGBTQIA+ affirming care. She is supervised by Jane Sweeney, LPC-S, of Sojourner Counseling in Madison, AL.
